Selection Criteria for HDUG
  Voluntary Organization
   
  The voluntary organization intending to obtain Hydrological Data User Group (HDUG) membership must:
  1. Be a registered NGO or Trust, under
 
  • Socities Act
  • Public Trust Act or
  • IT Act.
   
  2. Have an operational base in the state.
   
  3. Should have the creditability of working for a larger public cause, preferably in:
 
  • Water sector
  • Agriculture sector, and / or
  • Other related sectors.
   
  4. Submit a copy of its Memorandum of Association along with letter expressing the intent to become an HDUG member, duly signed by the Chief Operating Officer. eg.
 
  • President
  • Chairman
  • General Secretary.
       Nominate two individuals (one main and the other alternate) who will normally represent the organization in the HDUG meeting. These two individuals must be the whole time employees of the organization or at least must have long term interest in the affairs of the organization.
   
  5. Be willing to contribute a specific task group members, in case nominated.
      In case of large number of organizations showing interest in obtaining HDUG membership, the member secretary has the right to select members on priority based on his/her judgment.
   
  Other Establishments
   
  Establishments under this category intending to obtain HDUG membership must:
  1. Be
 
  • A registered private limited
  • A public limited company
  • A business establishment
  • An academic institution
  • R & D establishment or
  • A consulting organization
   
  2. Have an operational base either as an independent setup in the state or as a part of the all India network of operations e.g.
 
  • Manufacturing
  • Delivery of products and services.
  • R & D activities etc.
       The interested establishment is entitled to obtain dual membership, at the state and national level, if such a need arises.
   
  3. Submit a copy of its Article of Association along with letter expressing the intent to become an HDUG member, duly signed by the Chief Operating Officer. eg.
 
  • Managing Director
  • Chief Executive
  • General Manager.
       Nominate two individuals (one main and the other alternate) who will normally represent the organization in the HDUG meeting. These two individuals must be the whole time employees of the organization.
   
  4. Be willing to contribute a specific task group members, in case nominated.
   
  Loss of Membership
   
  The organization will loose its membership if:
 
  • It fails to be present in two consecutive General Body meetings.
  • It fails to take on the responsibility as specific task group members, if and when nominated, unless adequately justified.
